Observation and dignity
Clear for continuous clinical observation; opaque instantly for examinations, procedures and family visits.
Applications
Healthcare asks two contradictory things of a partition: staff need to observe, patients need dignity. Switchable glass is one of the few ways to deliver both from the same pane.

A flat, wipe-clean surface. Curtains harbour pathogens, need laundering and are a recognised infection-control weak point.
Removes cubicle curtains from the cleaning and replacement cycle entirely.
Sub-second switching at a wall control — no reaching across a bed to draw a rail.
Glazed bays let daylight reach interior spaces, which is associated with better patient outcomes.
Laminated units damp sound between bays, supporting both rest and confidentiality.
Critical care requires backup power. PDLC fails opaque, so a power cut removes staff line of sight into an ICU bay. Panels in critical care must sit on UPS or generator circuits — see what happens in a power cut.
| Application | Area | Indicative total |
|---|---|---|
| Single ICU bay | ~90 sq ft | ₹2.3L – ₹4.2L |
| Consultation room | ~110 sq ft | ₹2.8L – ₹5.1L |
| Nurse station screen | ~50 sq ft | ₹1.4L – ₹2.4L |
| 8-bay ICU ward | ~720 sq ft | ₹17L – ₹31L |
The glass turns opaque, which removes staff line of sight. For critical care this is a genuine clinical consideration, and those panels should be on backup power. The load is small — roughly 5W per square metre — so a modest UPS covers a full ward.
The glass is a flat, non-porous, wipe-clean surface with no fabric, which compares favourably with cubicle curtains. Compliance depends on your institution's protocol, so we supply the material specification for your infection-control team to assess.
Most standard disinfectants are fine. Ammonia-based and strong solvent cleaners should be avoided. Send us your cleaning schedule and we will confirm compatibility before order.
Yes, phased bay by bay. We plan around clinical schedules and work out of hours where required. Retrofit film is faster if the existing glazing is suitable.
